Job Summary

This position is located at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Healthcare System in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Equal Employment Manager performs work that involves developing, administering, evaluating, or advising on the Federal Government's internal Equal Employment Opportunity program.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain the EEO Program components. Coordinate activities, program planning, reports and other EEO related functions with Human Resources, Office of Resolution Management, Office of General/Regional Counsel, and other internal and external office stakeholders. Develope and maintain data through a variety of databases and information tracking systems. Conduct continuous oversight of VHA's EEO program by means of data and trend analyses.

Focus on the solution of systemic problems elimination of barriers to equal employment opportunity, including agency policies and practices, reviews complaint trends, and provide consulting services designated to affect major change. Knowledge of principles, concepts, legal requirements, and methodology of the EEO Program and skill in applying this knowledge to perform the assignments.

Practical knowledge and skill in interpreting, explaining and applying EEO laws, rules, regulations and procedures. Skill in applying conventional fact-finding, analytics and problem solving methods. Develop and manage comprehensive and proactive local EEO, ADR, and Diversity and Affirmative Employment Plans. Develop and implement EEO policy, assessment, and reviews. Provide recommendations to the Director, Leadership.

Develop correspondence and guidance for Leadership and Stakeholders that are representative of the commitment to the EEO Program. Enhance the EEO program by providing guidance and direction to enhance the outcome of the Special Emphasis Program. Responsible for a total equal employment opportunity program that meets basic requirements for complying with laws, regulations and agency policies.

This responsibility includes accountability for performance of the assigned program, e.g., planning, organizing, directing, staffing, coordinating, reviewing and evaluating the program. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

The work required does not inherently include any physical requirements essential for successful job performance that could not otherwise be performed with accommodation or workplace adjustment. A pre-placement physical examination is required. Work Schedule: Monday- Friday, 08:00am-04:30pm, subject to change based on the needs of the facility. Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
