This vacancy is for a GS-0260-15, Supervisory Equal Employment Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, OFFICE OF CIVIL RIGHTS EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT -CG-00HE in WASHINGTON, District of Columbia.
You will serve as a/an Supervisory Equal Employment Specialist and be responsible for developing and implementing the majority of the policies and compliance for the Coast Guard's military equal opportunity (EO) and civilian equal employment opportunity (EEO) programs with mission responsible for insuring compliance with equal opportunity laws, Executive Orders, Government-wide policies and regulations, and Commandant EEO/EO Instructions throughout Coast Guard.
Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Performing administrative and human resource management functions for supervised staff, including establishing guidelines, setting performance expectations, and managing leave requests. Delineating areas of responsibility, assigning work, providing advice, and reviewing completed work products for supervised staff and divisions.
Conducting comprehensive reviews and evaluation studies of agency-wide EEO/EO operations and practices to ensure program implementation is consistent with Coast Guard policies. Reviewing and evaluating statistical and anecdotal data to identify systemic trends and issues related to complaint activity and other EEO/EO functions, and assisting in developing appropriate policy responses.
Providing guidance to Coast Guard leadership and workforce on the Coast Guard's EEO policies and procedures, and developing recommendations to correct procedural and regulatory deficiencies.
