The position serves as an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Specialist for the assigned VA Medical Center. The employee assists the EEO Manager in planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of the Affirmative Employment and Equal Employment Opportunity Programs in the organization.
The Iowa City Veterans Affairs Health Care System (ICVAHCS) consists of a comprehensive Tertiary Care Level I VA Health Care System; eleven VA Clinics and two Homeless Veterans Outreach Centers and has an affiliate agreement with the top ranked University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. ICVAHCS is home to the Center for Access & Delivery Research and Evaluation (CADRE), one of the largest research departments in the VA.
CADRE is an energetic and upbeat organization with 18 core investigators, 29 affiliate or associate investigators, 3 Career Development Awardees, 5 VA Quality Scholars, over 50 research personnel, and over 40 funded projects.
https://www.va.gov/iowa-city-health-care/about-us/ Major duties include but are not limited to: Provide a wide range of administrative and technical support while performing a variety of duties to ensure that all EEO Program activities are administered and implemented to the organization's leadership, staff, and employees. Provide advice regarding a broad range of EEO and Affirmative Employment issues impacting the organization.
Maintain statistical data regarding the discrimination complaint process. Conduct analysis of trends regarding demographic data. Coordinate and plan the logistics for meetings, training, and performing all other related duties associated with the EEO program. Prepare correspondence for signature of senior level officials. Provide advisory services to all levels of management regarding the requirements and implications of the office services provided.
Draft various EEO reports as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm Telework: This position may be authorized for Ad-hoc telework.
