Typical work assignments include, but are not limited to: Performing administrative work supporting senior management in the Office of Human Capital (OHC). Planning and management of procurement activities in OHC. Reviewing productivity measurements for all program areas, monitors complex, challenging or problem areas and oversees implementation of solutions. Planning, organizing, and carrying out analytical studies which may impact major agency programs.
Providing advice and guidance and making recommendations regarding complex program management issues which may impact the OHC directly and the agency on a whole. Providing oversight of day-to-day operations and guidance of the branch, including supervising, mentoring, and training employees performing work at the GS-04 to GS-14 level.
Establishing program goals, objectives, workload measurements and workload standards ensuring services provided are cost-effective and meet milestones. Planning, organizing, and executing a major, substantive budget for a significant program component. Projecting and analyzing the potential effects of budgetary actions on program viability and the attainment of resource objectives and goals.
Providing authoritative interpretations of congressional legislation and DHS policies and precedents. Planning, developing, and establishing procurement objectives and contractual strategies. Directing, performing, and/or participating in all phases of the procurement process from requirements, through contract completion. Overseeing the administration of functional contracts and is personally involved in resolving more intricate or complex problems. Military Spouses and U.S.
Foreign Service Spouses Only: This position is remote work and telework eligible consistent with the Agency's telework and remote work program policy. Applicants who live within the local commuting area (i.e., a 50-mile or less radius from Glebe Road, Arlington VA (not driving distance)) are eligible for 100% telework in accordance with agency policy.
