Job Summary
This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General, Office of Audit Services.
Key Responsibilities
The Supervisory Administrative Officer serves as the senior human capital and administrative management official responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and overseeing workforce management and organizational support programs within the Office of Audit Services (OAS), Office of Inspector General (OIG), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
The incumbent serves as the principal advisor to executive leadership on workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, performance management, employee development, succession planning, awards administration, workforce analytics, employee engagement, organizational design, and administrative management operations.
The position provides strategic leadership in aligning human capital resources with organizational priorities while ensuring compliance with federal personnel laws, regulations, Merit System Principles, and agency policies. Major duties include but are not limited to: Directing the workforce planning initiatives supporting current and future organizational requirements. Directing all aspects of the organization's performance management program.
Overseeing employee recognition and awards programs. Coordinating recruitment and staffing activities with servicing Human Resources office. Leading initiatives to improve workforce management processes and administrative operations. Exercising full first-line supervisory authority over professional and administrative staff.
