The primary purpose of this Air Reserve Technician (ART) position is to serve as an Executive Officer to the group senior ART administering and directing the group's executive support functions; ensuring day-to-day operations comply with the policies of the senior ART and command and providing training to reservists.
Serve as the executive advisor on programs and initiatives within the group. Perform a variety of staff studies concerning group programs and program support effectiveness resulting from regulatory changes, new technology, program/mission changes, recurring requirements, and others.
Represent the senior ART concerning group plans, special events, projects, etc., to communicate senior ART's policies and to explain the interests of the group in regard to local activities or projects. Manage group resources for executive support, services and activities. Maintain oversight of and has overall responsibility for the inspection program as it relates to the group and directs the conduct of inspection activities.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is an Air Reserve Technician Officer position. Air Reserve Technicians are part of the regular civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain active membership in an Air Force Reserve unit so long as they occupy Air Reserve Technician positions. As members of reserve units, ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month.
In addition, they are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay. Air Reserve units and members are subject to immediate call to active duty in mobilization to meet a national emergency. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
