Job Summary

The position is located within the Department of Veterans Affairs, Financial Services Center (FSC), Financial Operations Service (FOS) in Austin, Texas. FSC provides centralized processing services for VA facilities nationwide. As part of the processing services, FOS operates as a technical call center providing internal and external customers service support to all VA facilities, over 200,000 Vendors and Medical Providers.

Key Responsibilities

Major Duties: The incumbent evaluates complex problems, formulates solutions supported by valid regulations and policies, and provides functional compliance advice and support to the different financial systems. Operates as a technical call center providing internal and external customers service support to all VA facilities. The incumbent will serve as Financial Analyst and will serve as mentor to Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Perform a wide range of administrative, analytical and support functions in the review and validation of the supporting documents received by the internal/external customers. Maintain functional and technical expertise over various payment systems and financial management processes. Work Schedule: Mon - Fri 8 am - 4:30 pm. Compressed/Flexible: Available with supervisory approval. Virtual: This is a virtual position.

Receiving Service Credit or Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. VA may offer newly-appointed Federal employee's credit for their job-related non-federal experience or active duty uniformed military service. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave.

Such credit must be requested and approved prior to the appointment date and is not guaranteed.
