Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

The selectee will serve as a Financial Management Specialist in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Financial Management Division.

Typical work assignments include: Serve as a senior financial management advisor, providing authoritative guidance and technical expertise to management officials, program offices, travelers, approving officials, and administrative personnel regarding financial operations, travel payments, relocation/PCS entitlements, auditing activities, accounting operations, payment certification, and financial compliance requirements.

Administers complex payment operations involving travel reimbursements, relocation payments, vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, third-party draft payments, and other financial disbursement activities. Confer with managers, supervisors, employees, and other stakeholders to resolve complex and sensitive travel issues, providing authoritative recommendations that may significantly impact agency travel operations.

Develops and prepares financial reports, statistical analyses, trend reports, reconciliations, and executive summaries related to payments, travel operations, relocation activities, audit results, and financial performance metrics. Supports audit readiness initiatives and remediation efforts involving internal notices of findings and recommendations, financial statement support, corrective action plans, and internal control documentation.

Requirements & Education
