Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Commissioner, Privacy, FOIA, EEO Office located in the following locations: Washington, DC Chicago, IL Albuquerque, NM San Francisco, CA Houston, TX Salary: Salary listed reflects the rest of U.S. scale and, if applicable, will be adjusted to meet the locality pay or cost of living expenses of the duty location upon selection.

This position starts at a salary of $61,722.00 (GS-09, Step 1) to $97,087.00 (GS-11, Step 10) with promotion potential to $138,370 (GS-13 Step 10). Typical duties include: Conducts assigned privacy compliance review activities for CBP programs and systems using established methods and checklists, identifies potential privacy risks, and drafts corrective recommendations under guidance from senior staff.

Assists in preparing, reviewing, and maintaining privacy documentation (PIAs, SORNs, PTAs, data sharing agreements, routine use documentation, Privacy Act amendment materials), ensuring accuracy and completeness and keeping repositories organized and up to date. Supports analysis of data collection and information sharing practices, reviews how PII is collected, used, shared, and protected, and drafts recommendations to enhance privacy safeguards for review by senior staff.

Provides program support and stakeholder coordination on routine privacy matters, including tracking action items, preparing briefing and training materials, organizing logistics, and assisting with privacy training and incident response activities.
