The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as manager, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over supervisory and nonsupervisory employees assigned to the Mass Spectrometry Flight.
Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Mass Spectrometry Flight. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and USAF CIL objectives. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Directs, coordinates, and oversees work through subordinate supervisors. Represents the USAF CIL with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with nuclear scientists and technical experts from the Laboratory, Center, and contracted laboratories from the Department of Energy (DOE). Utilizes expert-level professional knowledge of diverse mass spectrometry measurement systems, instrumentation, and methodologies.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS. This position is in the Excepted Service.
