WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Lead Research Microbiologist, you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by: Plans, prioritizes, initiates, designs, conducts, coordinates, directs and leads basic and applied research studies, particularly as related to development of novel diagnostics for virus families that cause diseases of humans.
Develop broadly reactive molecular diagnostic tests to identify and characterize viral agents that may cause diseases for which no known diagnosis is currently available. Provides consultation and advice to the agency in areas of personal research expertise.
Leading a team of scientists in an area requiring a systematic attack on problems recognized as difficult or is independently responsible for attacking difficult research problems or provides technical guidance in broad subject matter areas. Ensure that the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services.
Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
