Job Summary

The United States Attorney's Office for South Carolina's mission is to investigate, prosecute and deter violations of federal statutes, enforce and represent the interests of the United States in civil litigation, uphold civil, constitutional and victims' rights, and foster partnerships with other federal, state and local government agencies and community groups. Key Responsibilities

This Legal Administrative Specialist (Litigation Support) provides support to civil and criminal case teams by assisting with electronic discovery, evidence, exhibits, and electronic case information. Assignments are designed to build the knowledge and experience needed to perform higher-level litigation support work at the GS-11 level.

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Legal Administrative Specialist (Litigation Support) support in the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of South Carolina, located in Charleston, South Carolina, focusing in the areas of Electronic Discovery and Case Information Management, Litigation Technology Support, and Evidence and Exhibit Preparation.

Typical work assignments will include: Processing, organizing, and securely maintaining electronic case files for attorney review, and discovery. Creating and managing electronic document databases used to search, tag, sort, redact, and retrieve case information. Preparing electronic discovery materials and checking them for accuracy, completeness, proper formatting, and security before release.

Providing basic technical assistance to attorneys and legal staff using litigation support software and equipment. Preparing electronic exhibits and assisting with courtroom presentation software and equipment during hearings, depositions, and trials. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Requirements & Education
