Job Summary
You will serve as a Maintenance Worker Leader (Trails) with National Park Service. Work involves implementing the maintenance, repair, and construction of over 150 miles of pedestrian, multi-use, equestrian, and wheelchair accessible Park trails and related facilities located throughout 80,000 plus acres of Park lands. It also includes restoration, rehabilitation, and stabilization of historic and non-historic structures and the rehabilitation of public facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Selecting corrective actions to trail problems, estimating time, materials, logistical tactics, needed equipment etc.
Scheduling material deliveries, coordinating vehicle and equipment use, and coordinating resource monitoring Responsible for day-to-day on-site decisions concerning workflow assignment and distribution of work for crew(s) Teaches and demonstrates proper trail maintenance and construction methods and techniques to crews and volunteers and sets the pace when working along side them Communicates procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives to staff Inspects all assigned equipment and vehicles on a regular and recurring basis to assure safe working conditions
