Job Summary

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Finance, Financial Policy Division, Washington, D.C. Additional selections may be made for other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

Key Responsibilities

This position is located within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Finance (OF), Financial Policy Division. The Office of Finance secures and safeguards financial resources to enable CBP's mission. Typical duties include: Reviewing financial management policies and operational practices to identify gaps, risks, trends, and opportunities for process improvement.

Collaborating with finance staff, program offices, and financial leadership to address operational requirements and support effective implementation of financial policies and procedures. Assisting in ensuring financial operations and related processes comply with applicable laws, regulations, rules, directives, and mandates issued by oversight and governing authorities.

Supporting the development of plans, criteria, and procedures for implementing and maintaining conference approval processes and related governance programs. Assisting in developing, updating, and maintaining standard operating procedures, guidance materials, and internal process documentation. Tracking, analyzing, and reporting on conference attendance, costs, approvals, and outcomes to support oversight, compliance, and management decision-making.

This position starts at a salary of $121,785.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $158,322.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $158,322 (GS-13 Step 10).
