Job Summary

This position is located in the Region Two, Mitigation Division & Risk Analysis Branch. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience supporting Risk Mapping, Assessment and Planning program implementation in the following areas: Communicating Risk MAP products & standards, evaluation of Risk MAP regulatory databases, maps, & products, and the costs associated with it, and program management to include familiarity with grants and contract management.

Key Responsibilities

What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will serve in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Region 2, Mitigation Division, Risk Analysis Branch. Typical assignments include: Providing advice and assistance to the Risk Analysis Branch Chief regarding long-range (5 year) and short-range planning, creation and execution of the branch's budget, operating and staffing plans.

Facilitating the process of cost management: estimating, allocating, and controlling the costs of projects. Analyzing projects for prioritization and alignment with strategic objectives. Monitoring and evaluating project progress. Providing communication and support to Risk Analysis Branch Chief regarding risks, issues and dependencies to find solutions to keep the programs healthy. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description.

Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
