Job Summary

Management and Program Analyst falls under the Mental Health Service Line and reports to the ACOS for Mental Health or designee. Position is located at the Murfreesboro TN, VAMC.

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent is the Management and Program Analyst to the ACOS for MH or designee and prepares national, VISN and facility level clinical and administrative reports pertaining to the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Programs (BHIP) and Primary Care Mental Health Integration (PC-MHI) program under the Outpatient Mental Health (OMH) section.

Incumbent collects, compiles, analyzes and presents clinical and administrative data regarding provider productivity, labor mapping, measurement-based care, SAIL metrics, provider dashboard, bookable hours, patient wait times, clinic future access and slot availability, FLOW reviews, clinical reminders, clinic access/utilization, community care usage and trends, Risk ID, High-Risk Flag (HRF) dashboard, OMH consult management, and other relevant reports.

Conducts clinical and other studies to determine OMH needs. Reports on a variety of complex analytical studies and surveys. The studies can involve resource utilization (staff, space, supplies, equipment, budget, etc.) and needs assessment within service areas of responsibility and across individual service area of responsibility. Makes recommendations to management on resolving issues and presents recommendations both verbally and in writing.

Incumbent works closely with the Group Practice Managers office to prepare reports for meetings with upper management. Incumbent develops and recommends changes in OMH objectives, operations, strategic plans and resource utilization and presents recommendations and conclusions to OMH leadership for use in the development and execution of section operations. Actively involved in the continuous quality improvement of patient care services as it relates to the OMH section.

Makes recommendations and program specific decisions that promote the efficient use of resources with the goal of improving timeliness and appropriateness of services provided. Performs other related duties as assigned. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
