The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the principal point of contact and liaison for activities related to providing operation of (includes problem resolution), and support to organizations using the Defense Travel System (DTS).
- Receives, examines, verifies, and identifies complex categories of materials and equipment, such as those which are toxic, radioactive. perishable, classified. high-valued equipment, precious/strategic metals and complex electronic or mechanical equipment.
- Performs a full range of warehousing duties to include materials handling assignments/activities, such as receiving, inspecting, and transferring general or specialized bulk and bin materials and equipment to Material Management Section and Documented Cargo. - Receives, examines, and determines condition of a wide variety of complex items and materials to be turned in/removed. - Monitors special programs, computerized listings, and documentation/records.
Monitors the Repair Cycle, Time Change, and Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) programs. Ensures accurate identification of repair cycle DIFM items. Monitors DIFM suspense files and records to ensure minimum repair cycle time is recorded. - Utilizes safety and security practices and procedures following established rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area.
Responsible for complying with all established procedures pertaining to the operation of powered equipment and for adherence to all safety, environmental and security requirements. Maintains an orderly and clean work area that is conducive to safe operations. - Operates electric, LPG, or diesel-powered forklift trucks capable of lifting loads weighing less than10,000pounds as high as 168 inches.
Maneuvers vehicle to load, unload, move, and place materials and equipment in narrow warehouse aisles, and on trucks.
