You will serve as a Permits Specialist with National Park Service. This announcement is open to career transition eligibles (Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) and Reemployment Priority List (RPL)) ONLY.
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Serve as primary contact for Grand Canyon National Park's large and complex Commercial Use Authorization (CUA) and secondarily for the Special Park Uses (SPU) Programs. Recommend and/or provide CUA program guidance; strategy and annual work plans. Collaborates, supports, and implements regional and service-wide changes to Programs.
Responsible for the issuance of over 700 Commercial Use Authorizations, including permits for in-park tours, equipment rental, day hiking, bicycling, and overnight backpacking. Supports issuance of Special Park Uses Permits, including permits for special events, weddings, burials in the park's Pioneer Cemetery, and First Amendment activities in throughout the park.
Grand Canyon National Park's commercial services program is one of the most complex programs in the National Park Service (NPS) and one of the largest in terms of concessioners' annual gross receipts. The Division is responsible for the following programs: Concession Contracts (22), Commercial Use Authorizations (700+), Special Park Uses, Rights-of-Way and procurement contracts associated with the park transportation (shuttle) system.

Foreign Education: To receive credit for education completed outside the United States, you must show proof that the education has been submitted to a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and such education has been deemed at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs.
