Job Summary

This position is located in the Executive Office of the President (EOP), Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Budget Review Division, Budget Analysis Branch reporting to the OMB Assistant Director and senior leadership on OMB's major policy issues and decisions. Key Responsibilities

Candidates must obtain and document approval from their current supervisor before applying to this detail. The Detailee of this position reports directly to OMB Deputy Chief, Budget Analysis Branch and senior leadership on OMB's policy decisions. The incumbent will provide assistance in the analysis of a diverse array of major policy decisions.

As a Policy Analyst (Detail), GS-0301-9/11/12/13/14/15, your typical work assignments may include the following: Participates in the development of multifaceted budget, program, and legislative proposals. Plans, conducts, and completes special analytical and other studies relevant to budget and legislative policymaking.

Reviews important research, evaluation, and statistical activities of Federal and nongovernment sectors to identify and initiate actions to improve databases available to shape informed policy decisions. Reviews pending and proposed budget actions and legislation on assigned topics and advises senior staff and the Assistant Director on recommended actions. Develops and recommends options for action in relevant areas. Perform other duties as assigned.
