This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Health Security (OHS). The primary purpose of this position is to use management and program analysis experience in trauma informed care, immigration, child well-being, vulnerable populations, mental health and other related areas to perform program evaluation, coordinate with DHS components and provide advice, consultation and contract management and oversight.

As a Program Analyst (Child Well-Being), GS-0343-13, your typical work assignments may include: Conducting periodic and comprehensive evaluations of ongoing functions to ensure that the organization meets its stated goals and identifies areas where operational efficiency can be enhanced.
Recommending actions necessary to maintain or improve the quality and quantity of operational services, introducing or refining automation, reorganizing operating units, reassigning personnel, and proposing the increase of organization resources. Directing the capture, reporting, and analysis of statistical data relating to the organization's operations and directs or personally performs special studies regarding this data.
Providing expert analysis and advice on complex program issues. Preparing guidance based on analyses of interrelated issues of effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of substantive mission-oriented programs. Evaluating contractor performance within the technical provisions of the contract, order, or agreement in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications.
Reviewing, advising on, and conducting complex analyses, evaluations, or investigations in support of organizational programs, systems, and processes, including areas where definitions, methods, and/or data are incomplete, controversial, or uncertain, or where boundaries of the studies are extremely broad and difficult to determine in advance.
