This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Strategy, Policy and Plans (PLCY), Office of Homeland Security Statistics (OHSS). The primary purpose of this position is to independently carry out a full range of policy development, policy review; and strategy to complete each phase of special assignments critical to DHS's mission. As a Program Analyst (Data Analytics), GS-0343-13, your typical work assignments may include: Serving as a data analyst to support DHS data related solutions for privacy compliance, disclosure avoidance, and applying a variety of analytical approaches to solve mission focused policy, methodologies, and/or administrative problems in a fast -paced environment.
Leading and integrating data lifecycle management activities and data quality measures; improving the collection of data from varying sources, formats, and quality and preparing them for analysis and dissemination.
Serving as a data governance lead to support technical data lifecycle processes, including applying programming, statistical, business intelligence, or data management tools to advance enterprise data governance objectives; including evaluating large datasets for quality, consistency, completeness, lineage, and usability; supporting data standards and metadata practices; and communicating governance insights through dashboards, reports, or other decision-support products.
