This position is located in the Response and Recovery Associate Administrator Directorate. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience leading organization-wide studies, reviews, and/or projects that have resulted in recommended changes to policy, procedures, or operations to improve program delivery.
What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will serve as a Program Analyst in the Strategy and Readiness Office within the Office of Response and Recovery (ORR). Typical assignments include: Maintaining agency-wide awareness of progress on strategic plan implementation, ensuring the ORR efforts are aligned to the department and agency's highest priorities.
Providing analyses on ORR activities, identifying gaps in progress, coordinating strategic discussions, and providing technical solutions to more efficiently accomplish common goals. Analyzes and evaluates quantitative or qualitative effectiveness of program office operations in meeting established strategic goals and objectives.
Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to inform ORR-wide priorities and identifies opportunities to align, share and amplify FEMA's strategic goals and objectives. Leading special studies, review, and projects on potential issues relevant to the Agency and ORR to inform recommendations to senior leadership.
Promotion Potential: Future promotions will be dependent on your ability to perform the duties at a higher level, the continuing need for an employee assigned to the higher level, and administrative approval. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
