This position is in the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Personnel and Readiness (USW(P&R)), Office of the Assistant Secretary of War for Health Affairs (ASW(HA)), DoW/Department of Veterans Affairs Collaboration Office (DVCO). The ASW(HA) is responsible for the effective execution of the DOW medical mission which is to provide and maintain readiness, medical services, and support to members of the Armed Forces during military operations.
Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following:. Supports development and execution of the VA-DoW Joint Strategic Plan by integrating transition-related equities, coordinating supporting analyses, and tracking cross-cutting actions across executive governance bodies and collaborative initiatives.
Coordinates enterprise activities supporting Service Treatment Records (STR) timeliness, records transfer, healthcare information sharing, and continuity of care; analyzes performance data to identify trends, systemic barriers, and operational risks affecting disability claims processing and transition outcomes.
Develops Department positions, executive correspondence, briefing materials, information papers, decision memoranda, annual reports, Congressional responses, and strategic analyses; represents DVCO in interagency working groups and executive forums. Serves as a Program Analyst and DVCO's principal advisor for transition integration, healthcare continuity, STRs, and transition data-sharing activities.
Facilitates collaboration among organizations with differing statutory authorities and program responsibilities; identifies enterprise issues and operational risks, develops coordinated recommendations, and supports implementation of senior-leader decisions.
