This position is in the Medical Disability Examination Office and reports under the direct supervision of the Chief and Assistant Director for the Quality Staff. The incumbent serves as a Quality Analyst and is responsible for conducting audits and providing technical advice to the Chief and Assistant Director in support of the MDEO program.
Specific duties include: Conducts audits on completed medical disability examinations to ensure they are accurate, complete, and comply with contractual requirements. Participates in periodic and special focused reviews to validate compliance with new statutory, procedural, or other requirements or significant policy changes or to gather information on particularly sensitive areas that impact examinations.
Assists in analyzing data to identify both national and local trends that impact the quality or timeliness of examinations. Identifies program risks and refers them to management. Prepares reports based on analysis, recommending appropriate solutions and strategies to mitigate program risks.
Manages multiple projects and assignments concurrently where priorities shift frequently and effort involves coordination among multiple resources, other individuals and divisions, or agents outside of the organization. Serves as an advisor and consultant to the supervisor on determinations involving decisions on individual cases and national issues regarding technical, regulatory, procedural, and operational aspects of the VBA medical disability exam contract.
Prepares for and gives oral presentations to various audiences within MDEO, and other VBA senior management, department level executives, and outside agencies. Prepares clear and concise documents. Assists in developing and updating procedural guidance for both internal staff use and distribution to field offices and vendors. Prepares briefing papers and answers Congressional and external stakeholder inquires.
Researches Veteran specific issues and prepares all necessary administrative materials, correspondence, and justification detailing reasons for conclusions, recommendations, and decisions. Performs other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday Compressed/Flexible: Not Available Telework: This position is eligible for situational (ad hoc) telework only.
