The position is in the Human Capital Management, Workforce Management and Consulting Office, Executive Support Services (ESS) office and reports to the Director, ESS. The position performs duties to support the current and future needs of the senior executive human resources (HR) community within VHA/VACO and ESS, and several national level external customers.
Monitors and manages incoming actions and requests from initial receipt to completion and closeout. Conducts or participates in special information flow studies, analyses, presentations and briefings. Serves as the Executive Assistant and the key staff advisor to the Director, ESS. The position conducts analytical studies on operational processes, issue topics, or related special projects.
Serves as the responsible contact for leading projects from initiation to completion and may be required to present the results to senior leadership. Leads major quality and process improvement initiatives by creating and implementing plans and procedures for enterprise-wide deployment across ESS, supporting VHA senior executives and field offices.
Serves as an expert analyst applying advanced qualitative and quantitative methods to evaluate program effectiveness and improve complex HR processes and systems. Analyzes individual programs, functions and organizations at the national level to determine whether programs in current use are effective in accomplishing objectives.
