The incumbent serves as a Data Analyst and is organizationally aligned under the Program Management Officer (PMO) or one of the program directorates: CHAMPVA or Specialty Program Department. Analyst is responsible for monitoring the multitude of processes under the cognizance of the PMO/Chief to ensure health programs are administered efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with appropriate regulations and laws.
Analyst will participate in extensive interaction with all IVC directorates and VFMP departments to accomplish the mission assigned to VFMP Analyst will analyze and evaluate on a quantitative or qualitative basis, the effectiveness of operations, policies, procedures and other situations in order to provide improved and cost-effective changes or solutions. Plans and conducts studies, analyzing findings and making recommendations on substantive operating programs.
Compiles results and recommendations, prepares reports, and presents findings in a clear, meaningful way utilizing PowerBI and other data visualization tools available within VHA. Analyst will gain an understanding of VFMP business processes to help departments identify inefficiencies, process gaps and process improvements. Develops user stories, process maps and system context diagrams on internal projects and initiatives to capture business needs and analyze solutions.
Analyze and evaluate agency functions and activities, while also evaluating proposed changes in mission, operating procedures and delegations of authority. Analyst will provide analysis and visualization for VFMP's Key Performance Indicators (KPls), Trend Analysis, recommended corrective action plans, internal audits, and ad hoc queries to address the "what, which means, therefore" for impact/correction.
Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
