The primary purpose of this position to manage the installation Records Management Program. In addition, incumbent assists in providing management of the Freedom of information Act (FOIA), and Privacy Act and Civil Liberties Programs for the installation/wing.
Serves as the Installation Records and Information Manager and provides oversight of all records management systems through analysis and evaluation of all functional areas. Responsible for managing over 290 installation offices of record. Assists the Installation Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Program Manager. Responsible for installation FOIA programs/initiatives and provides the FOIA source of knowledge for a host installations and tenant units.
Provides managerial responsibility of FOIA requests for Air Force (AF) records. Assists the Installation Privacy Act (PA) Manager. Serves as the installation representative for the PA program. Conducts thorough review of AF and MAJCOM policy and guidance to determine if supplemental guidance is required for installation implementation to protect access to information which falls under the PA during electronic transmissions.
Ensures compliance with requirements for FOIA and PA programs. Provides subject matter expertise for the installation on policies and procedures for electronic mail and internet standards in accordance with FOIA/E FOIA/PA requirements.
