Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to manage the installation's records/information management and forms and publications program as well as assist with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA) program. The records management work involves the creation, dissemination, research, storage and disposition of Federal records.

Key Responsibilities

Manages the installation's Records and Information Management (RIM) program to align with the base business and mission needs. Develops and oversees record management applying established policies, principles, laws, standards and guidelines for paper records, electronic, magnetic, optical, imaged, and any other format for archiving and maintaining information used by the organization.

Manages the Base Forms and Publications program establishing local procedures on all aspects of publication management.

Analyzes and evaluates program requirements to ensure validity, currency, essentially, and management criteria such as legality, necessity, and applicability do not conflict with higher headquarters issuance or duplicate another publication Assists in Managing the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Program provides the FOIA source of knowledge for host installations and tenant units. Provides managerial responsibility of FOIA requests for Air Force (AF) records.

Manages the operation of the base records staging area and centralized destruction facility. Receives and stores all installation's inactive records to include unclassified or sensitive records.

Ensures charge-out records are returned to staging within established timeframes Manages the RIM training program by establishing and conducting formal and/or informal training for installation personnel on maintenance of records, file plans, electronic records management, and any other area of records management deemed necessary Represents Records and Information Management to a variety of installation and/or tenant organizations.

Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships across the installation to include tenant organizations. Meets with key customer and coordinating officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolve problems that arise. Provides customer guidance, recommendations, and training on RIM issues.
