The Assistant Nurse Manager in collaboration with the Nurse Manager functions as a supervisor and assumes accountability for the operation of a designated unit. This includes the management, supervision and evaluation of care delivered by nursing and other allied health care staff. The Assistant Nurse Manager is also responsible for contributing to the establishment and implementation of evidenced-based nursing standards of practice.
Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provides leadership in the application of the nursing process to client care, organizational processes and/or systems, improving outcomes at the program or service level. Provides leadership in identifying and addressing ethical issues that could impact the patient and staff, to include initiating and participating in ethical consultations.
Manages program resources (financial, human, material or informational) to facilitate safe, effective and efficient care. Provides care, as needed, respecting patient's personal values, cultural and belief system. Maintains confidentiality of all patient information, including electronic, print, and conversations. Supports the facility's EEO/affirmative action programs by executing assigned duties and responsibilities in a professional manner.
Guides others in the recognition of and participates in the resolution of ethical issues.
