Job Summary

This vacancy is for a GS-0343-14, Regulatory Development and Coordination Manager located in the Assistant Commandant for Prevention Policy, Office of Auxiliary and Boating Safety, Program Management and Operations Branch (CG-BSX-21), in Washington, DC..

Key Responsibilities

You will serve as a Regulatory Development and Coordination Manager and be responsible for Recreational Boating Safety regulations and is responsible for development, clearance, and administrative management of the Office of Auxiliary and Boating Safety's regulatory program projects. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.

Typical work assignments include: Maintaining continuous contact with the recreational boating safety stakeholders to obtain information and cooperation to ensure the regulations and perspective actions affecting the RBS program represent a balance of safety and practicality. Coordinating the Office regulatory program in accordance with a long-range plan and schedule, maintaining a high level of expertise concerning regulatory procedures.

Building collaborating relationships with industry, state, and federal governments, and nonprofit organizations. Serving as the Alternate Designated Federal Officer (ADFO) and coordinating the efforts of the National Boating Safety Advisory Committee (NBSAC), including accomplishing committee goals.

Reviewing and/or authoring all Recreational Boating Safety (RBS) policy documents and regulatory work plans submitted to the Marine Safety and Security Council (MSSC), ensuring completeness and sound project justification. Representing the Office before senior audiences to fully explain regulatory initiatives and influence favorable outcomes.
