Air Reserve Technicians are full-time civilian employees who are also members of the Air Force Reserve unit in which they are employed. In addition to their civilian assignments, they are assigned to equivalent positions in the Reserve organization with a Reserve military rank or grade.
Appointee's civilian assignments will consist of the following duties.
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Air Reserve Technician (ART) officer position to serve as Operations Group Commander/ Senior ART and as such, manage the flight operations function on a daily basis. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the operations organization. Directs all operations and training programs for the organization. Develops goals and objectives for the organization. 2.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Directs, coordinates, and oversees work through subordinate supervisors. Advises staff regarding policies, procedures, and directives of higher level management or headquarters. 3. Represents the Operations Group with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with Commanders, Managers, Supervisors, other senior officials, HQ AFRC, Air Staff, and officials from the gaining major commands. 4. Manages the flying and ground training program for the group. Analyzes higher headquarters directives, accident reports and mission readiness reports. 5. Flies as an aircrew member in unit aircraft, as required.
May perform duties as a flight instructor or flight examiner as deemed appropriate by the Commander.
