Key Responsibilities
As a Supervisory Deputy Director, you will perform the following duties: Serve as the deputy director and principal executive advisor to the Director in planning, executing, and coordinating administrative operations, policies and procedures, and serve as the principal advisor in the coordination of all congressional, intergovernmental, and tribal activities.
Assist with managerial and oversight responsibilities for the effective use of staff and resources in meeting organizational goals and objectives. This includes directing the activities of the offices, assessing the needs and trends in congressional affairs related to the programs, implementing overall strategic planning, and policy setting. Participate in the formulation and planning with NOAA management and Administrators.
Formulate and execute long-term information and policy plans related to strategic planning of the future operations of the organization. Provide technical and administrative oversight of the staff evaluating and developing performance standards; giving advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. Organize and assign work and make changes or adjustments in internal functions to better accomplish mission objectives.
