Job Summary

This position is located in Region 3 / Response Division. The ideal candidate for this position will be supervising, directing, and coordinating day-to-day operations of a geographically dispersed Emergency Management team, branch or unit, as well as experience overseeing an annual Planning, Programming, Budget, Execution (PPBE) cycle for a government organization.

Key Responsibilities

What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will exercise oversight responsibility at the regional level of FEMA work that involves issues dealing with immediate Federal response to all hazards. Typical assignments include: Coordinating the development of the division's budget and work plans. Coordinating with Divisional leadership to evaluate complex Response operations and activities to find efficiencies and recommend improvements.

Providing 1st and 2nd line supervision and performance management to geographically dispersed FEMA Integration Staff members to include giving advice, counsel, and instruction on emergency management work and administrative matters. Leading Disaster Response Incident Support and/or Incident Management teams during Presidentially declared disasters and National Special Security Events (NSSEs) What else do I need to know?

All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description.

Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
