You will serve as a Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist with the National Park Service at Tonto National Monument. First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate.
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Serves as the facility management expert and member of the park management team to develop and implement management strategies. Monitors and evaluates maintenance programs affecting park operations to ensure compliance with, and application of, approved management direction.
Responsible for the development and management of the maintenance division's budget, utilizing the NPS financial management programs. This is a supervisory position that may require completion of a supervisory probationary period. Location Information: Tonto National Monument was established to preserve, protect and interpret two prehistoric cliff dwellings, other archaeological sites, and the natural resources of the Upper Sonoran ecosystem.
The Monument is over 1,120 acres of desert environment comprised of diverse plant and animals including many species of cacti, snakes, bees, scorpions, lizards and tarantulas. The Monument ranges in elevation from 2,300' to 4,000' and temperatures in this high desert location may range from 30 to 115 degrees Fahrenheit.
