The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to Force Development Competency Division.
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of Force Development, ensuring that Occupational Competencies complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities to the limited number of military, civilian and contract staff in the AF Force Development Competency Division.
Represents AF Force Development and Competencies Division with HAF, MAJCOMs, Force Development Command, joint, industry, academia, international and interagency partners. Conducts and/or leads studies and/or initiatives to improve competency development and competency based learning program(s) and/or influence policy changes for assigned functional areas that typically involve long range, highly complex, and often sensitive topics.
Supports and advises organizations and senior level governance structures and working groups to include, but not limited to, AF/A1, Air University (AU), Functional Managers (FM), the Force Development Panels/Developmental Education Boards, Force Development Council, and the Air Force Learning Committee.
