Air Reserve Technicians are full-time civilian employees who are also members of the Air Force Reserve unit in which they are employed. In addition to their civilian assignments, they are assigned to equivalent positions in the Reserve organization with a Reserve military rank or grade. Appointee's civilian assignments will consist of the following duties.
The primary purpose of this position is: as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) officer, this position maintains standardization and evaluation oversight and tasking of Air Force Reserve forces and ensure daily standardization and evaluation activities are in compliance with the policies of the Group Commander, 655 ISRW, 10 AF and HQ AFRC and to provide training to reservists in the duties assigned.
- Provides expertise on Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) operations in support of HUMINT, SIGINT, GEOINT/MASINT, Acquisition Intelligence, Targeting, All-Source/Fusion Analysis, and intelligence products for execution of ISR taskings, collection, processing, analysis and dissemination. - Organizes, plans, and oversees the activities of the Group's operations and training programs.
Exercises responsibility and authority for planning and managing command/control oversight and tasking of Air Force Reserve ISR forces supporting the Air Force, DoD, and National level Agencies. - Serves as an AFRC ISR expert, interfacing with AFRC and AF ISR Operations Centers, to maintain command/control/oversight and tasking of Air Force Reserve Forces within the ISR Group as well as Regular Air Force (RegAF) ISR units, missions, and operations.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS. This position is in the Excepted Service.
