The Deputy Inspector General for Investigations serves as a senior leader and primary advisor providing policy guidance and professional insight into investigations and inquiries to the IG and OIG staff. The incumbent engages diverse stakeholders, applies analytic trade-craft, and drives technical innovation.
Additionally, the role delivers analytical support for emergent requirements while advancing and refining analytical methodologies to support the OIG mission and leadership priorities.
As a SUPERVISORY INVESTIGATOR you will be responsible for the following duties: MISSION STATEMENT: The OIG is responsible for promoting integrity, efficiency, effectiveness and economy and to detect & deter fraud, waste and abuse supporting DCSA's value of unwavering integrity though an ethical and accountable workforce.
The Deputy Inspector General for Investigations serves as a Senior member of the OIG leadership team and primary advisor for Investigations, providing the IG and OIG staff with policy advise and professional insight in Investigations, Inquiries, and related activities conducted by the Office of the Inspector General.
Oversees staff that includes Assistant Inspector Generals, Senior Investigators, Supervisory Investigators, Investigators, Case Analysts, Program and/or Management Analysts, and others as assigned. Manage daily workload of staff and ensure overall operational efficiency of the DCSA OIG Investigations program.
Conducts independent investigations or inquiries or serves as team leader of a group of investigators conducting special inquiries/reviews, wherein expert knowledge and skills are necessary to define the issues and develop the information required. these include involvement and interests of high-level DoD personnel as well as DCSA management or matters of an unusually complex nature such as the compromise of extremely sensitive or highly classified information.
Establish and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships throughout DCSA and similarly with external partner agencies, to include the DoD IG (including DCIS), Department of Justice and other external agencies/liaisons as appropriate for the coordination with and success of DCSA OIG.
Act as a DCSA OIG point of contact for inquiries, investigations, or requests from other DCSA directorates, conducts and/or supports "Teaching and Training" through presentations at meetings and conferences, participates in DCSA working groups dealing with OIG matters. Prepares reports, briefs, trainings, case summaries, etc. regarding investigations and other OIG matters for DCSA leadership and staff.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
