Job Summary

This position is located in Response and Recovery, Logistics Operations Division and Current Operations Branch. The ideal candidate for this position will have experienced in complex logistics operations, leading teams in high-tempo environments that involve planning, coordinating, or evaluating logistics programs and doctrine, policies and readiness standards required to support our mission.

Key Responsibilities

What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will serve as a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist. Typical assignments include: Managing a group of Specialists, who, as advisors manage a highly complex, professional/ administrative workload of logistics management programs, projects and technical/support contracts.

Overseeing the analysis and advice to management on the effectiveness of logistics programs and operations and the productivity and efficiency of organization and resource utilization that support agency-wide logistics. Conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of logistics program operations in meeting established agency goals and objectives.

Assigning staff members who carry out highly technical and difficult logistics management program reviews and evaluations on a large scale, often involving multiple organizational echelons. Planning and scheduling work to be accomplished by subordinates. Provides subordinates the requirements and descriptions of the work to be performed and tracks progress. What else do I need to know?

All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description.

Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
