This position serves as a Supervisory Data Analyst in the National Center for Warrior Independence (NCWI) at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. The incumbent provides technical and administrative supervision to a unit of Management and Program Analyst, and multiple administrative support staff.

Serve as the primary advisor and technical consultant for the Chief/Director of the National Center for Warrior Independence (NWCI) on all matters related to Data Science and future technologies for the support services provided. Serves as an authoritative technical expert and consultant to NCWI group leaders on data management, data mining, and data representation techniques that inform the monitoring, evaluation, and improvement of programs.
Ability to apply the specialized principles and practices of healthcare management. Design, implement, and maintain database applications, dashboards, data reporting systems, data sets, and databases that synthesize clinical and administrative data from multiple sources into meaningful and useful information and knowledge for business analysis purposes. Performs regular analytical reviews of facility data.
Identifies operational, clinical, and financial scenarios for analysis and recommends ways to optimize efficiency, cost management, resource utilization, and risk reduction.
Provide expert analysis of clinical or administrative data highlighting patient care opportunities and evaluating facility performance in the areas of clinical care, patient satisfaction, access, productivity, consult management, SAIL, utilization management, efficiency, provider peer review, among others. Develops logic and writes code to extract data from CDW, VistA and other local or national databases.
Identify trends and analyzes VA Greater Los Angeles' homeless program data in the context of VISN and national data and initiatives to ensure the NCWI is meeting and exceeding its goals and to assist NCWI leaders in making data-driven decisions that maximize efficiency and utilization.
Participates in defining strategic goals, developing, and implementing administrative and clinic programs, and educating staff regarding processes related to data management, research, assisting in measurement of those goals, and contributing to the success of those projects.
Demonstrates skill in effective written and oral communication, to include expertise in data visualization and expert knowledge of a broad range of computer-based programs for communication, report generation, and presentations. Plan work and major projects that are to be accomplished by subordinates, will set, and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare timeframes for completion of work. Other duties as assigned.
