Job Summary

The ideal candidate for this position has experience serving as a first level supervisor over a staff who perform analytical duties.

Key Responsibilities

What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will work in Resilience, Office of Environmental Planning and Historic Preservation (OEHP), Office of Operations, Technology Branch supporting principal mission programs of the agency.

Typical assignments include: Advising the Administrator, Division Directors, and other members of the senior staff on information management, resourcing, and technology for the strategic and performance plans of technology requirements. Ensuring plans, budgets, policies, and procedures are consistent with priorities established by the supervisor.

Liaising between the OEHP and FEMA technology directorates and offices, ensuring compliance with pertinent federal policies, regulations, and laws. Providing overall direction for the OEHP systems and technology to include Environmental Information Management Systems, Geographic Information Systems, and data analytics through various platforms and systems.

Ensuring subordinate staff is individually trained and experienced such that they are recognized as the Office's primary authorities on the planning, management, and execution of technology systems and data analytics. Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description.

Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
