The Primary Purpose of the Position is: to serve in a Supervisory Prosthetic Representative role is to administer, supervise, and perform work concerned with rendering prosthetic and sensory aids services to disabled patients. The Organizational Location of the Position is: Prosthetic & Sensory Aid Service, at the Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center, located in Bonham, Texas a campus of the VA North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS), Dallas, TX.
Duties included but not limited to: Develops local organizational policies and procedures consistent with national policies and procedures. Develops Statements of Work for service contracts. Establishes long and short-term program goals. Responds to a variety of correspondence i.e. contractors, Home Oxygen program issues, congressional, etc. Serves as Chairperson in local facility committees, workgroups, and teams.
Participates in various clinics representing Prosthetics (Amputation Care Clinic, etc.). Assesses and provides technical guidance concerning equipment and benefits to beneficiaries and other health care workers. Adjusts work load and develops performance measures. Implements new local and national guidelines. Develops tools that allow monitoring of quality assurance programs. Analyzes, reviews and evaluates the results of various monitors and databases.
Informs Veterans and families on different appliances services available. Plans, develops and prepares budget estimates. Analyzes costs to develop cost containment initiatives. Coordinates specialty programs which include clothing allowance, Home Oxygen, Automobile Adaptive Equipment, Home Improvement Structural Alterations (HISA).
