The incumbent serves as the Chief of one of the staff with Quality Assurance. The incumbent will supervise subordinate staff and employee's work relating to the specification of the quality programs to include Systematic Technical Accuracy Review, Advisory reviews, Special Focus Review, Program Operation and Quality Review Team support to field offices.
The incumbent will ensure an accurate review of disability claims processing to establish nation and regional office accuracy rates.
Specific duties include: Serves as a supervisor for Quality Assurance to include national STAR reviews, special focus reviews, advisory workload, and other duties as assigned. Conducts or directs studies, analyzes findings, and makes recommendations on VBA's Quality Review Team and QA programs.
Coordinates with other VBA Business Lines and Office of Field Operations (OFO) regarding specific regulatory/procedural changes needed for successful implementation of Compensation benefit application support. Manages multiple projects or programs concurrently where effort involves coordination among multiple resources, other divisions, or agents outside of the organization.
Oversees the preparation and on occasion gives oral presentations to various audiences within CS, VBA senior management, department level executives, and outside agencies. Directs the development of presentations covering highlights of new material and providing practical applications and examples.
The incumbent develops and implements periodic special reviews requested by the Director of QA to ensure quality performance in specific target areas such as implementation of policy changes or handling of specific types of claims. The selectee is required to report to the official duty station each scheduled workday. Telework may be approved only on a case-by-case basis with supervisory approval.
