The incumbent will serve as an Administrative Officer organizationally aligned to the Behavioral Health Service at the VA Central Ohio Health Care System, Columbus, OH. The role of the position is to direct and perform all administrative functions related to the Behavioral Health Service to include, but not limited to, human resources requests, ordering and tracking supplies and equipment, document control, and other administrative functions as directed by Service Chief.
The Administrative Officer of Behavioral Health works collaboratively with the health systems specialist, program data analysts, group practice management, Associate Chiefs of Behavioral Health, and the Service Chief of Behavioral Health in providing administrative oversight to all 20 program sections within the service. Provides full staff assistance on administrative matters affecting patient care, education, and organizational policy.
Incumbent has been delegated full authority to deal with and personally resolve matters involving administrative operations. Technical expert regarding operational problems and personnel administrative issues. Manages the Behavioral Health Organizational Chart and Strength Report and develops and maintains a system for tracking vacancies and provides weekly reports to supervisory staff.
Exercises human resources responsibility by initiating requests for recruitment, promotions, retirement, or other personnel changes. Advises care line manager and employees on the interpretation and application of a variety of human resources procedures including staffing, performance standards, performance evaluations, competencies, and related areas.
