This position is located in Region Four, National Preparedness Division, Technological Hazards Branch. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience with radiological emergency preparedness, coordinating/conducting assessments of state and local technological hazards plans such as chemical, biological, radiological, and/or nuclear, and technical writing.
What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will work as an Emergency Management Specialist (Preparedness). Typical assignments include: Reviewing and approving recommendations of state and local radiological emergency and technical plans. Conducting technological hazard assessments for FEMA regional office and providing technical assistance at state and local levels.
Coordinating/conducting assessments of state and local technological hazards plans such as chemical, biological, radiological, and/or nuclear. Analyzing assessment results for use as recommendations for changes and serving as guidelines for current and future preparedness efforts. Providing technical writing and advice on preparedness activities associated with natural and/or man-made disasters. What else do I need to know?
