Job Summary

This position serves as a Grant Management Specialist in the U.S. Department of Education (ED), Office of Elementary and Secondary Education (OESE), performing professional work for educationally related program (or group of programs) directed towards improving American education.

As a Grants Management Specialist GS-1109-09, you will be responsible for: Assisting with the administration and management of discretionary grants throughout all phases of the awarding process, including pre-award (planning), award, post-award, and close-out activities. Supporting team members with the development of program requirements and the formulation of program policy.

Assisting team members in engaging internal and external stakeholders to gain relevant insights into the issues, challenges, and opportunities that program policies must address. Supporting the review of program plans to ensure that requirements are met. Building cross-program knowledge and develop communication channels across the organization to better support the efficient management of grant funds and grantee assistance.

Requirements & Education

You may meet the minimum qualifications of this position by meeting the following education options. (GS-9) Two years of graduate education (beyond a bachelor's degree). or A master's degree or equivalent degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related or A combination of specialized experience and education that when taken as a percentage of the required education and experience total 100% or more.

Foreign Education: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet education requirements if you can show that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
