Job Summary

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Information and Technology, Workforce Management Division locate in Ashburn, Virginia. Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

Key Responsibilities

Joining Customs & Border Protection will allow you to use your expertise to analyze and advise management on a wide range of program activities which will impact the IT workforce and CBP mission. This position starts at a salary of $143,913.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $187,093.00 (GS-14, Step 10). GS Salary: Visit this link to view the locality pay tables by geographic area. Typical duties include: Leading the team in assessing its strengths and weaknesses and provides leadership to the team in exploring alternatives and determining what improvements can be made (e.g., in work methods, processes and procedures).

Analyzing and evaluating workforce planning and management programs with CBP IT strategy, mission, and goals. Managing complex projects and working groups, including redesigning, automating, and re-engineering processes to meet the varied and changing requirements of CBP IT workforce planning and management.

Developing, refining, and institutionalizing systems for workforce management monitoring, evaluation, and compliance, ensuring alignment with federal regulations and agency policy. Evaluating critical resources decisions and advising leadership on optimizing workforce strategies to address organizational needs, resolve challenges and support mission-critical initiatives.
