Job Summary
This position is located in the Office of the Secretary of War, Office of the Under Secretary of War for Personnel and Readiness (USW (P&R)), within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of War for Manpower and Reserve Affairs, under the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Military Personnel Policy (DASW(MPP)) and the Director, Officer and Enlisted Personnel Management (OEPM).
Key Responsibilities
Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Advises and provides expert assistance to the Director, Deputy Director and executive leadership on all matters relating to National Mobilization to include matters referred by the Military Departments, other OSW offices, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS), as well as those from other government agencies or other sources, and action and information items referred by the Under Secretary.
Develops comprehensive policies, conducts analysis, provides advice, makes recommendations for actions when adjustments or a different course of action is necessary, and issues guidance on Department plans and programs, including coordinating activities and preparing such reports as required by Congress relating to National Mobilization.
Develops detailed plans, tasks, milestone dates and schedules to ensure proper sequencing of events and tracking of processes and costs throughout the life cycle of the programs/projects and reporting on the effectiveness of National Mobilization programs related to laws, executive orders, directives, and policies pertaining to the responsibilities of Department of War (DoW).
