Job Summary

Corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities.

Key Responsibilities

Performs management analysis functions to determine how Bureau program area productivity and security programs can be improved through automation and other security technologies. Documents such analyses and discusses them with program managers. Leads security technology and information systems projects and assumes responsibility for customer contact during the development, implementation, and follow-on phases of the system life cycle.

Monitors information flow and progress of users, analysts, and programmers throughout the systems and security technology development process. Coordinates research and development of new electronic systems and equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Acts as a BOP information and security technology liaison with DOJ law enforcement agencies, outside agencies, e.g., the Department of Homeland Security, the National Institute of Justice, Department of Defense, etc., as well as other federal and state law enforcement entities to discuss and develop security technology initiatives, implement pilots and testing of new technology, exchange information, and develop standards for the use of such technology.
