Help shape the future of health care for American Indians and Alaska Natives. As a Management and Program Analyst (Counselor) with the Indian Health Service, you will advise the Director on complex policy issues, guide agencywide initiatives, and work with federal and Tribal partners to advance the IHS mission. This position is located in Rockville, Maryland. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).
Key Responsibilities
Analyze sensitive program and management issues; develop policy options, recommendations, and briefings; help carry out the Director's agenda. Plan and coordinate Director-assigned initiatives, set milestones with senior leaders, monitor progress, and address barriers. Evaluate crosscutting programs, management issues, and resource considerations; lead workgroups and present findings to senior officials.
Represent the Director when designated; coordinate with IHS, HHS, other federal agencies, Tribal partners, and other stakeholders; help resolve shared issues. Assess legislative proposals affecting IHS and prepare recommendations and supporting materials.
