Job Summary

As a Senior Advisor to the Senior Deputy Comptroller, you will serve as an expert on the formulation and implementation of a broad range of national policies, procedures and agency projects/processes relevant to the effective and efficient coordination, integration and execution of the agency's activities. This position is located in Community Banks, Washington, DC. Alternate location option is available.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Advisor to the Senior Deputy Comptroller in Community Banks, you will: Provide authoritative guidance and counsel to the SDC on policy and strategic goals and objectives. Under delegated authority from the SDC, lead initiatives to develop and implement broad agency priorities and initiatives for OCC supervision policies, programs, practices and operations. Develop short- and long-term plans to meet these initiatives and identify resources.

Effectively communicate strategies and priorities, and the associated changes to and impact on mission, staffing, and workload and productivity requirements. Collaborate with OCC Senior Deputy Comptrollers, Deputy Comptrollers, Senior Advisors and/or their representatives to coordinate and integrate major efforts and effectively carry out objectives and goals.

Advise the SDC on the long-range implications of new developments, innovations, and trends in the financial services and banking industries. Lead strategic analysis of key supervisory programs, systems and/or analytics to assess long-term implications and impact of proposed regulatory policies and practices of the OCC. Develop courses of action and create strategies and processes.

On behalf of the SDC, oversee complex supervisory initiatives that present a high level of risk to, or are otherwise significant for, the OCC's supervisory priorities or to the banking industry. Represent the SDC in developing and implementing initiatives that refocus or shift OCC supervisory philosophies and priorities, as appropriate for banking industry innovations.

As appropriate, lead associated collaboration with other financial regulators, Treasury officials, legal and financial institution representatives and executives. Exercise significant responsibilities in leading senior manager and executive-level groups to establish and broaden OCC structures and strategies that reflect the priorities and organizational philosophies and priorities of the Comptroller and Executive Committee (EC).

Serve on and lead task forces, special projects or working groups, which conduct comprehensive analysis involving broad OCC supervisory policy, program, system and/or practice issues, and issues of significant scope and intensity, and long-range OCC-wide impact.

As appropriate, officially represent the SDC with bank executives, officials of domestic and international regulatory agencies, and banking industry and legislative leaders to discuss highly visible, sensitivity, and controversial matters of concern to the OCC, broader financial regulators, and/or the financial system at large.

On behalf of the SDC, conduct authoritative review of significant proposed supervisory, supervisory support and policy documents, correspondence, periodic and special reports, and other materials directed to the SDC.

Exercise significant responsibility in collaborating with appropriate OCC officials and other regulatory entities to ensure findings, conclusions, recommendations, required actions, and responses provided for the SDC's approval reflect necessary and appropriate priority and emphasis.
